Day of a Thousand Years

Track 3 from the 1995 Confession of Faith release
Do You Love Pain

Day of a Thousand Years

Thicker grows the stifling air
I solation bends my knee s in prayer
Love heals not my soul so cold
In empty nest my skin was sold

In contrition my empty soul
And from me in a sense she stole
So now alone severed from god
Sent forth I am to the land of nod

I am forsaken

Without hope

Love deceives me not in my fears
I feel this day the weight of a thousand years
So cold I grow with the darkening sky
Absolve dear lord penitent am I

I am forsaken

Without hope

Salvation is lost to my arrogant tears
I wish my prayers fell upon god’s ears
Weary I grow at a quickening pace
I fear I have fallen from god’s grace

God I am forsaken

Without hope

I do love god
